Why do people overeat?
"Understanding the Psychological and Emotional Factors behind Overeating"

In my spiritual experience, having more interest in food than necessary means there is some lack in the mind and senses. After all, individuals with a religious nature always talk about control over food.

In my experience, there are two types of people who have more interest in food than necessary. One is those who talk more than necessary, and the other is those who do not speak outside but have inner dialogues. Although such people's personalities are suppressed by external and internal reasons, they are not fully capable of expressing their feelings. Therefore, they are found speaking to themselves inside. Sometimes they are found talking to themselves when they are alone.

People who talk more also have to eat more because excessive use of the jaw, tongue, and throat causes them to get tired easily. Since all these body parts are very close to the brain, they quickly become fatigued. When fatigue sets in, the brain and body need food and sleep to recover. Therefore, people with this tendency need to eat more frequently and more than necessary.

Such individuals tend to develop a habit of eating quickly because they also tend to have a lack of patience. As a result, all major organs involved in digestion and elimination never get enough rest. The quality of their diet also tends to be highly Rajasic and Tamasic as the mind finds satisfaction in such foods. In addition to food, people with such tendencies also require a lot of addictive drinks.

Overeating can also be a result of emotional factors such as stress, anxiety, depression, and boredom. When we are stressed, our body releases hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, which can increase our appetite and cause us to crave high-calorie foods. Similarly, when we are feeling sad or lonely, we may turn to food as a form of comfort, leading to overeating.

Additionally, our environment can also play a role in our eating habits. The availability of high-calorie, processed foods and the abundance of food in our society can make it easy to overeat without even realizing it. We may also be influenced by our social circle, as eating habits tend to be shared among friends and family members.

Moreover, overeating can become a habit that is difficult to break. Our brains form habits through repetition, and if we repeatedly overeat, our brains will begin to associate food with pleasure and comfort, leading to a cycle of overeating
