Student: Guruji, I have trouble falling asleep at night. What can I do to relax?
Guruji: When you can't sleep at night, it's important to calm your mind and relax your body. One effective way to do this is through pranayama, which involves deep breathing exercises but during exhale it should be effortless completely.
Student: Can't I do any other physical exercise to help me sleep better?
Guruji: No, it's best to avoid other physical exercises before bed, as they can increase your heart rate and make it harder to relax. Even something as simple as a walk can be too stimulating for some people.
Student: But what about when I need to go to the bathroom at night? I usually end up walking around 25 steps.
Guruji: Actually some people are so skilled "to nitpick or be overly critical; to find fault in everything". However, the truth is that this is a mental disorder. It should be gradually eliminated.
Do whatever I have recommended to you like pranayam. This will reduce this unnecessary mental calculation and stress level of the senses and brain easily.
There are other things that can help promote better sleep, such as establishing a regular bedtime routine, avoiding caffeine and alcohol before bed, stop screen before 3 hours of going to sleep and creating a dark and quiet sleep environment. It's important to find what works best for you and make it a habit for a good night's sleep.
