Do you know, there is a remarkable link between a person's flight of imagination and the taste that they crave? In my observation, those who are able to craft a magnificent plane of imagination are the ones who are not very good at social behaviour. Why is that? It is because the mind is so consumed in painting a canvas of beautiful fantasy, so busy inwards, that it makes a person less expressive in the outside world.
An imaginative mind mostly weaves fantastical thoughts in bright colours, such as red, pink and blue. Some of these colours are closely linked to sweet taste.
Such people are often driven by emotions, have a liking for sex and may also turn devotional after a point in time. Their venus - a planet of love, sexual experiences and all things denoting comfort and luxury - is usually seen to be quite active, giving them rich experiences around all things that it stands for. Such people may also tend to be lazy.
The more you make the brain work, the more it gets exhausted. In my opinion, writers, poets, artists, all have the capacity to use their brains to an unimaginative extent. Mind you, I am not saying all of it is bad for the brain, the point that I am trying to make here is that using this ability of the brain in unnecessary activities such as overthinking, exhausts it for no reason.
Coming back to the link between fantasy and taste, when an imaginative brain is overworking it craves sugar and fat, why so? Because brain's fuel is simple sugar and carbohydrates which are easily available in the form of sugary, fried and fatty food items. This is the reason why in stress we tend to binge eat, not on healthy foods such as fruits, but on easily available and appetising junk food. In case this necessity is not met, a person begins to experience mood swings, slowly and gradually such a person begins to move toward alcoholic beverages which are nothing but fermented sugar. Those with a 'satvik' fantasy brain are satiated with sweets, desserts and chocolates. This shortcut to recharge the brain is dangerous and a short-lived one, it leads to obesity, anxiety issues and a host of lifestyle-related ailments.
You may have noticed, most people either love too much sugar or too much spice, this is just an indication of the way their brain is being used and how it is directing the person to recharge it through the choice of taste and food - basically, a quick fix.
However, I cannot emphasise enough the right way of recharging our brain. Yoga, meditation, pranayama, deep sleep, all of it, regularly, are enough to recharge our exhausted brain and stave off our mindless dependence on junk food. I have a dedicated blog on brain drain and ways to recharge it to live a happy, healthy and holistic life, you may refer to it to get more in-depth knowledge on the topic.
