Before practising any exercise, it is very important to understand the science of that action. Profit and loss is the basis of doing any action by people of common sense. Even many people start doing any action indiscriminately keeping only the profit in mind. Without thinking deeply, these actions give more harm than benefit in future. Because neither its science was known nor the way to get it, nor its bad consequences were known.
Particularly in the spiritual and religious worlds, all the energies are thrown into the practice itself, making profit and fear the basic basis. I consider it completely unscientific to keep shooting arrows in the dark like this. It not only gives disease by tiring physically, but also gives mental diseases. Keeping this in mind, what should not be done in Pranayama, I have pointed out the following points.
Pranayama should never be done with the sole aim of attaining longevity or becoming slimmer. Those who keep such thoughts in mind are usually never able to get discipline.
The practice of pranayama should not be limited to body health only. Its practice should be spiritual, then physical health is achieved automatically.
There should be no sweat in the subtle and practical practice of Pranayama. Sweat comes out in the muscular activities of the body, the release of sweat in mental activities means that there is a defect in your method. Many people increase their mental concentration at one place, then automatically sweating begins. At this stage it should be understood that there is a defect in the method of concentration of your senses and mind, it should be corrected by staying under the guidance of a Guru.
It is not advisable to practice with eyes and mouth open
While doing the exercise, one should not sit with the waist bent and supported. One should also not sit with the spine and body too tight. It is natural to have pain inside the spine at the beginning of pranayama, but by the end of the practice the body and senses should become loose, calm and relaxed.
There should not be a rapid pace of breathing because the senses get tensed by the intensity of the breath. The movement in the breath should be maintained at a relaxed pace so that the senses start loosening and the thoughts decrease.
Do not focus on what you will get in future from the practice of Pranayama. Pay attention to what is being experienced while practising
Do not think of benefits through imagination while practising pranayama. Do not imagine that the energy is spreading throughout the body. Emphasise the experience. Pay attention to what you are experiencing during the exercise.
An artist creates happiness and sorrow in the mind through imagination. But a practical person does not experience through imagination, he experiences what is happening in practice. That's how it increases the power. Similarly, while doing pranayama, try to concentrate the mind on the experience of the breath. At this stage the fantasies should automatically end.
