Taste Glands & Constipation

The Intricate Relationship Between Taste Glands & Constipation

Believe it or not but taste glands and the brain have an intricate and deep relationship. As many as six types of tastes or juices - sweet, sour, salty, acerbic, bitter, tangy or spicy satisfy the hunger of the brain's tissues. In case of any imbalance in this, the brain finds it difficult to gain satisfaction and the process of excretion gets hampered or compromised, leading to constipation.

People who suffer from constipation have problems when the brain over activates a particular taste gland, causing a person to become addicted to a particular type of taste, either the mind is unable to connect with the taste glands of the brain.

In my experience, the tissues of the brain recharge themselves through tastes. Taste glands satisfy the frustration and dissatisfaction in the brain's tissues. No matter how nutritious the food is, or how much you lace your diet with multivitamins, if the tastebuds and glands are not properly activated, the brain will not be completely satisfied and as a result, the absorption of nutrients and the digestive process will get hampered.

When the taste glands are dissatisfied, there is stiffness in the intestines, just as there is stiffness in the intestines due to mental stress. Due to this stiffness problems like constipation arise.

Removing the mind's connection with the taste glands does not give full satisfaction to the mind and brain cells and the dissatisfied cells cause stiffness, tension and strain, especially in the intestines due to which the intestines are unable to eliminate stool and dirt easily.

In my experience, I have seen many people who indulge in regular physical exercise, especially of their stomach region and have near perfect diet as well, depite all this, they are found to be suffering from constipation. Why is that? It is because the mind is not satisfied with the taste glands. That is, the brain cells are not able to be satisfied with the taste. The only way out is to sit and experience the food, relish and savour it, chew properly and not just mindlessly swallow it.

Swallowing food means giving the function of taste to the stomach and the liver. The function of the liver is to digest food and not to taste it, so the satisfaction of the taste glands is considered a helpful element for digestion and waste elimination. Even the process of digestion starts with the positive message of these taste glands.

Thing to remember

1- Quality of food

2- Timing of food

3- Taste of food

4- Do not rush eating

5- Physical-mental and sensory (senses) exercises

It is necessary to have a balance in all the above elements, then only physical and mental health can be achieved.
