In Indian spirituality, both knowledge and energy are given equal importance. Gyan means conscious pure soul which is called Shiva and Energy means nature which is called Shakti (Durga, Kali, Chandi etc. are considered synonymous with Shakti). When the power is out of control, it destroys itself as if the demons had the power. He was very hardworking, but when the powers acquired by the working people are not controlled by any knowledge, they destroy themselves. Due to the excess of those powers, the brain becomes destructive.
In such a state when the energy of the navel (Manipur) and Mooladhara become over-awakened due to some known and unknown reasons, then that energy starts burning itself. When it becomes more awake than necessary, then the person becomes mad. That's why I always talk about the balance of this energy. In this body, arrangements have been made for its balance, but the person who is intoxicated with energy forgets the cooling factor.
Note that along with awakening the energy to an infinite amount, it is very important to know how to compress that energy. Both these processes must go together otherwise a person ends up killing himself like Ravana.
A seeker needs to know how to store energy in compressed form. Otherwise, it becomes natural for a person to come across many diseases and even sexual frustration etc.
Let us understand this by the means of an example:
The navel energy of Ravana, the king of Lanka, was more awake than necessary. His brain was also in the brightest state due to the energy of the navel. He could concentrate more than required at any particular place. One by one the principles were created by that person. Despite this, his energy remained uncompressed, leading to arrogance, violence, the ability to harass others and sexual frustration. From a normal point of view, he could only be called sexually insane.
What happened in the end! The excess of that energy became the reason for his downfall. If the secret of his energy is to be seen, it was hidden in his navel. That is, the secret of his death was also in his navel centre. If only the source of that energy is cut off, then life's pastimes would have ended. That is why Vibhishana shot an arrow at the navel of Ravana through Shri Ram to end the energy of Ravana forever.
If we talk about the navel energy of Lord Ram, then I would call it compressed energy. His energy was driven more by his morality, therefore he was not fickle. His senses and mind were still. Those who stabilise their senses and mind by compressing the energy, these five material elements (earth, air, fire, sky and water) automatically start supporting them. This is the reason that despite the lack of administrative experience in Shri Ram, due to his same compressed energy, he destroyed a powerful person like Ravana and his army.
In my own experience, the movement of energy should always be compressed with knowledge and cooled down. This is beneficial for a person and also for society for infinite years.
Hatha Yoga also speaks of this navel energy as the Manipura Chakra. The Manipura Chakra is awakened through different exercises of the spine, as well as there some pranayamas. There are many methods like Udyan Bandha, Nauli Kriya, Kriya Yoga etc. which help in awakening the energy.
Along with this, Hatha Yoga also says that this energy is to be used only until knowledge is attained, after attaining knowledge, these activities should be discarded as unnecessary. Otherwise, by clinging to the techniques of Hatha Yoga, the seeker stops his progress.
And at the same time, considering the same techniques as the ultimate truth remains ignorant of the supreme knowledge.
In the end, I would like to say that to reach the source of navel energy, to open the door of that infinite energy, one should practice under the protection of an experienced guru, otherwise its disadvantages have been seen more than its benefits.
