Rest & Digest for Optimal Health

Every action we take is mainly driven by the need to relax. This is why our bodies work the way they do. Even our heartbeat has moments of rest that are important. The science behind everything is about balancing action and rest. This balance makes things seem active, even when they are still.

In living beings, there is a continuous balance between action and rest. For example, take the liver. Its main job can be summarized as 'Rest & Digest.' The liver works best when it is resting. During this time, it can process food better, showing how important rest is for good function.

From what I have seen, people who are always busy rarely experience true relaxation. They don’t understand what real rest is and think that being constantly active is a way to relax. Many people tell me they go to shopping malls to walk. They believe that by watching the busy environment, they can get some exercise. But instead of focusing and feeling on their muscles and the act of walking, they focus on what they see around them.

This shows a bigger problem. Instead of finding rest in their actions, these people keep their minds busy with many activities at once. They don’t move from action to rest but keep moving from one activity to another. This habit stops them from finding true rest and can lead to health problems.

When the body and mind don’t get enough rest, it can cause diseases. Constant stress and activity disrupt the body’s natural functions, leading to main and major issue like inflammation. This inflammation is a main cause of all diseases like high blood pressure, digestive problems, and mental health disorders.

In conclusion, understanding the balance between action and rest is important for staying in one self. Taking time to rest and relax helps the body work well and prevents stress-related illnesses. True relaxation is not just stopping activity but a state of rest that refreshes both the body and mind.
