interviewer: Yogi Anoop, many people prioritize their financial health over their physical and mental health. What do you think about this?
Yogi Anoop: Those who prioritize their physical, mental, and financial health are disciplined, clever, and self-aware. They understand the importance of taking care of their overall well-being. However, some people only focus on their financial health and neglect their physical and mental health. This kind of lifestyle can lead to their destruction.
Interviewer: Why do some people feel bad about spending money on their physical and mental health?
Yogi Anoop: Some people believe that they should not have to spend money on their health and expect free health services. They crave free services and feel that spending money on their health is a waste. I often get calls from people asking why I don't provide my services for free.
Interviewer: What do you tell these people who ask for free services?
Yogi Anoop: I explain to them that whatever nature has given for free, if it was never valued, then now to be healthy, one should not expect it for free but instead be willing to pay more. When nature gave something for free and it was not valued, it was not accepted for free. So if I give something for free, what guarantee is there that you will take it for free? That is why gurus should not give any advice for free. It should be given at the highest price possible.
Interviewer: Why should advice be given at the highest price possible?
Yogi Anoop: The truth that is given for free never benefits anyone. If that same truth is charged for, then it is very beneficial because the act of giving and taking is the nature of this world. The nature of this body and mind also depends on giving and taking. Perhaps that is why the sages emphasized the importance of guru dakshina.
Here is some additional advice which can be prioritised.
Prioritize your health: Make a conscious effort to prioritize your physical, mental, and financial health. Set aside time and resources to take care of your body and mind, and invest in activities and practices that promote your overall well-being.
Practice self-awareness: Take the time to reflect on your own habits and lifestyle choices. Be honest with yourself about areas where you may be neglecting your health, and make a plan to address these areas.
Seek out professional advice: If you are struggling with health issues, don't hesitate to seek out professional advice. Whether it's a doctor, therapist, or spiritual teacher, working with an expert can help you get back on track and achieve optimal health.
Don't skimp on self-care: Many people feel guilty about taking time or spending money on self-care activities like massages, yoga classes, or therapy sessions. However, these activities are essential for maintaining good health and preventing burnout, so don't hesitate to prioritize them in your life.
Value the wisdom of experts: Spiritual teachers, gurus, and other experts have spent years studying and practicing their craft. While it may be tempting to seek out free advice or shortcuts, remember that true wisdom and insight often come at a cost. Don't be afraid to invest in your spiritual growth and seek out the guidance of experienced teachers.
