Student: Guruji, what are the solutions to address snoring and its related health problems? Is there a way to avoid these issues without relying on machines?
Yogi Anoop: Indeed, there are solutions. In modern medical science, the use of machines like CPAP is often suggested. These machines help regulate your breathing and supply oxygen to the brain and body during sleep. While they can be effective in severe cases, they are not a permanent solution. For individuals below the age of 50, relying on such machines is not advisable unless absolutely necessary.
Student: Why do you say that machines aren’t ideal for younger people?
Yogi Anoop: Because the root cause of the issue lies in a disturbed lifestyle. Lifestyle is not just about waking up, eating, or sleeping on time. It also involves the practice of harmonizing the body, senses, and mind. If these aspects are neglected, snoring and related health problems will persist, even with the use of machines.
Through my research and experiments, I’ve found that certain pranayamas (breathing techniques) can significantly help. These techniques strengthen the muscles from the nose to the throat, improving their connection with the brain. If these muscles are strengthened, snoring can be controlled 100%—and not over months, but within a few days.
Student: Can you suggest specific breathing techniques for this?
Yogi Anoop: Yes, there are some highly effective practices. For instance:
1.Turtle Breathing combined with Ujjayi Pranayama
2. Mouth-based practice of Bhastrika Pranayama
These techniques directly target the affected muscles, improving their tone and function.
Student: What about other methods beyond pranayama?
Yogi Anoop: The solution isn’t limited to pranayama alone. This issue can also be addressed through asanas (yogic postures) and bandhas (energy locks). There are several yogic techniques that can help strengthen the airway and clear any obstructions.
Unlike external muscle exercises, the internal organs—like those from the nose to the throat—can only be strengthened through targeted yogic practices. Ujjayi Pranayama is particularly effective in clearing these blockages.
Student: How does Ujjayi Pranayama help?
Yogi Anoop: Ujjayi Pranayama not only strengthens the throat and vocal muscles but also improves the airway’s capacity. If practiced correctly and consistently, it can resolve snoring issues entirely.
Additionally, the Jalandhar Bandha (throat lock) helps tone the same muscles. A few specific asanas practiced for just 10 minutes daily can yield 100% positive results, eliminating the need for machines.
Student: That sounds promising! Does this have any impact on other bodily functions?
Yogi Anoop: Absolutely. These practices also benefit the liver, digestion, and elimination processes. By improving the oxygen supply and muscle function, they reverse the negative effects snoring has on these systems. Regular practice ensures that issues like fatty liver, indigestion, and elimination blockages are completely resolved.
Student: Guruji, this seems like a holistic approach. Is it effective for everyone?
Yogi Anoop: It is, provided it’s practiced sincerely. These methods are not theoretical—they’ve been tested on numerous students under my guidance. The results speak for themselves. However, remember that consistency and mindfulness are key. Yoga doesn’t just treat the symptoms; it addresses the root cause. So take this problem seriously and commit to these practices.
