Asthma is a disease that usually affects people with more cough and air-related problems. Such people avoid fully expressing their nature. Here are some breathing exercises that will be beneficial for patients.
The most appropriate pranayama for asthma is deep chest breathing, which increases lung capacity and also reduces its stress levels. Therefore, I will discuss some pranayamas here that will be suitable for asthma patients.
DEEP CHEST BREATHING - The first pranayama should be Deep Chest Breathing with kumbhak. Kumbhak is necessary in this as it increases the absorption of oxygen in the lungs. Note that it is essential to perform any pranayama under the protection of a guru. If this pranayama is done with a difference of 11 minutes with kumbhak, then the problem can be controlled quickly.
SURYA BHEDI PRANAYAMA - After this pranayama, asthma patients should do Surya Bhedi Pranayama with antar kumbhak for 11 minutes. This pranayama activates the brain and controls the patient's cough nature.
BHASTRIKA - Bhastrika is useful in this disease, but it should be done with great caution. This pranayama should be done only after knowing the patient's condition thoroughly, and its speed is special. If the problem is severe, the pace of pranayama should be very slow and gradual; otherwise, it can lead to complications.
In addition to practicing pranayama, asthma patients should also make sure to take their prescribed medications as directed by their healthcare provider.
It is important for asthma patients to avoid triggers that may exacerbate their symptoms, such as smoke, pollution, dust, and allergens.
Regular exercise can help improve lung function and overall health for asthma patients. However, it is important to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new exercise routine.
Breathing techniques such as pursed-lip breathing and diaphragmatic breathing may also be beneficial for asthma patients.
Asthma patients should regularly monitor their symptoms and seek medical attention if their symptoms worsen or if they experience a sudden onset of severe symptoms.
It is important for asthma patients to maintain good overall health habits, such as getting enough sleep, eating a balanced diet, and managing stress.
