Dialogue Between Yogi Anoop and His Disciples on Navel Energy and the Enteric Nervous System - II

Disciple: Gurudev, what is the impact of navel displacement or misalignment on the brain and mental health?

Yogi Anoop: Navel displacement or misalignment is often considered a simple physical occurrence, but it profoundly affects the brain and mental health. The navel is the gravitational center of our body, and when it shifts from its position, the body’s energy flow becomes imbalanced.

There is a direct connection between the navel and the brain. When the navel is unstable, it disrupts the Enteric Nervous System (ENS), causing digestive issues. These disruptions in digestion create stress in the brain, leading to mental health problems such as insomnia, anxiety, depression, and impaired decision-making ability.

In my experience, yoga and pranayama practices are highly effective in restoring the navel to its correct position. Once the navel stabilizes, mental health also begins to improve naturally.

Disciple: Gurudev, how does navel displacement lead to problems like constipation and IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)?

Yogi Anoop: When the navel shifts from its position, it directly affects the functioning of the digestive system. The Enteric Nervous System, located around the navel and responsible for controlling digestive secretions and intestinal motility, becomes imbalanced. This disrupts the coordination between contraction and relaxation in the intestines.

The first visible impact of this imbalance is constipation. The slowed intestinal movement makes bowel evacuation difficult. On the other hand, conditions like IBS, where alternating diarrhea and constipation occur, can also result from navel misalignment.

Yoga practices such as Navel Chakra Sadhana and Subtle Kapalbhati are particularly helpful in addressing these problems. Additionally, Ayurvedic techniques like applying ghee or oil to the navel area are highly effective in improving digestion.

Disciple: Gurudev, what is the impact of navel misalignment on the liver?

Yogi Anoop: The liver is one of the most vital organs in the body, responsible for detoxification and the production of enzymes essential for digestion. Navel misalignment negatively affects the liver because the gravitational pull of the navel directly influences liver functionality.

When the navel becomes unbalanced, it disrupts the blood flow to the liver. This causes the liver to lose its efficiency, leading to issues like fatigue, weakness, indigestion, and the accumulation of toxins.

Balancing the navel can reactivate the liver’s functionality. I have conducted in-depth experiments in this area with my disciples and have observed significant improvements in liver health as a result.

Disciple: Gurudev, can navel misalignment diminish a person’s willpower?

Yogi Anoop: This is a very profound question. The connection between the navel and willpower is linked through the Manipura Chakra. The Manipura Chakra is the center of our self-confidence, determination, and decision-making abilities. When the navel shifts from its position, the energy of the Manipura Chakra weakens.

As a result, a person becomes indecisive about their desires. Their ability to make decisions, confidence, and courage to move forward in life gradually diminish. This is not just a matter of physical weakness but also an indication of mental and spiritual weakness.

Balancing the navel and activating the Manipura Chakra can reignite willpower. Yogic practices such as Nadi Shodhana and Agnisara Kriya are highly beneficial in this regard.

Disciple: Gurudev, is bringing the navel to its correct position so important that it can impact overall health?

Yogi Anoop: Correcting the navel’s position is not just important—it is essential. The navel is the center of the body from which energy flow, digestion, and the nervous system are regulated. If the navel is unstable, it affects the entire body.

Navel misalignment causes not only physical problems such as constipation, gas, and indigestion but also mental instability, anxiety, and a lack of self-confidence. In my experience, people who struggled with chronic mental and physical issues saw remarkable improvements in their health simply by balancing their navel.

Therefore, maintaining a balanced navel is vital for overall health. This can be easily achieved through yoga, Ayurveda, and pranayama techniques.

In this way, the study of the navel and the Enteric Nervous System is not limited to physical health. It is also the foundation for mental, emotional, and spiritual balance. By understanding the importance of the navel through yoga and Ayurveda and keeping it balanced, one can lead a better and more harmonious life.
