ख़ुदा से जुड़ने से पहले ख़ुद से जुड़ें

ख़ुद से दूरी बनाकर अगर ख़ुदा की इबादत की जाए, तो उसका अर्थ क्या रह जाएगा? अगर हम अपने अस्तित्व और इंसानियत से ही कट चुके हैं, तो ईश्वर की आराधना करने का औचित्य कहां है? इसलिए, मैं कहता हूँ कि ईश्वर से पहले स्वयं से जुड़ना ही जीवन की वास्तविक गहराई को समझने का पहला कदम है।

जब हम अपने भीतर झांकते हैं, अपने आप से जुड़ते हैं, तब सच्ची इंसानियत का अनुभव होता है। पर अगर ईश्वर मिल भी जाए और इंसानियत न हो, तो ऐसा ईश्वर किस काम का? जानवरों को ईश्वर नहीं मिलता क्योंकि वे ईश्वर को नहीं जानते। अगर जानवर ईश्वर को पहचानते, तो शायद मंदिरों, मस्जिदों और चर्चों में सबसे पहले वही नज़र आते।

सच तो यह है कि जानवर अपने स्वभाव के साथ जीते हैं। उन्होंने कभी ईश्वर को खोजा ही नहीं। और शायद ईश्वर भी जानवरों को नहीं पहचानता। अगर जानता होता, तो सबसे पहले उन्हें अपने करीब बुलाता क्योंकि वे तो ग़लत करते ही नहीं। वे अपने स्वभाव में संतुलित रहते हैं।

लेकिन इंसान? इंसान ने अपनी इंसानियत को त्यागकर जानवरों का आचरण अपनाया है। और यही कारण है कि उसे ईश्वर की जरूरत महसूस होती है। एक ऐसा मनुष्य, जो अपने भीतर की मानवता से कट चुका हो, ईश्वर को पाने की कोशिश में कितना सफल हो सकता है?

आज की आपदाओं, जैसे कि कोरोना महामारी के दौरान, भी हम यह देख रहे हैं कि लोग अपने और दूसरों के जीवन को खतरे में डालकर मंदिरों और मस्जिदों में ईश्वर से जुड़ने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। बजाय इसके कि हम अपनी इंसानियत को जागृत करें, हम अनुशासन और संवेदनशीलता को भूलकर ईश्वर के नाम पर जोखिम उठाते हैं।

अगर हम ही न रहेंगे, तो ईश्वर को पाने की बात ही कहां से उठेगी?

जहां ‘ख़ुद’ मौजूद नहीं है, वहां ‘ख़ुदा’ का अस्तित्व कैसे संभव है?

इसलिए, ख़ुदा से जुड़ने से पहले अपने भीतर झांकें, ख़ुद को पहचानें। यही ईश्वर तक पहुंचने का सबसे प्रामाणिक मार्ग है।

Connect with Yourself Before Connecting with God

What is the meaning of worshipping God if you are disconnected from yourself? If we lose touch with our true self and our humanity, what is the significance of offering prayers to the divine? That is why I say, understanding the depth of life begins with connecting to oneself before attempting to connect with God.

When we connect with ourselves, we truly understand what it means to be human. Without humanity, even if we find God, what purpose would it serve? Animals do not worship God because they do not know Him. If they were aware, they would be the first to crowd temples, mosques, and churches.

The truth is, animals live naturally, in harmony with their nature. They don’t seek God because they don’t feel the need to. And perhaps, God doesn’t seek them either. If He did, He would have called them first to places of worship, for they are undoubtedly better than humans in some ways—they don’t stray from their natural behavior.

Humans, however, have abandoned their humanity and adopted the behavior of animals. And that is why they feel the need for God. A person who is disconnected from their humanity cannot truly connect with God.

Even in today’s times of crisis, like the coronavirus pandemic, many people risk their own lives and the lives of others by gathering in places of worship to seek God. Instead of awakening our humanity and protecting each other, we act recklessly in the name of divine connection.

If we cease to exist, who will seek God?

Where “self” is absent, how can there be “God”?

Therefore, before attempting to connect with God, turn inward and connect with yourself. Recognizing and understanding oneself is the most authentic path to the divine.
