The Importance of Practical Life

Merely reading and writing can never provide full practical experience, nor can it bring about any change in life. Reading and writing only impart the knowledge (information) of what various individuals and revered texts have said and what they have not. We end up just reading the works of great people while the problems remain unchanged. This happens because we haven't learned to read ourselves, nor have we learned to live practically. 

Consider how many authors there are who teach you the qualities to become a billionaire, but if you look at their own lives, they are making a living by selling those very books. They are never billionaires or trillionaires themselves because no businessman becomes a trillionaire by just one method. In practical life, they must go through numerous trials and tribulations.

Take another example: who reads a book to get a deep sleep? Those who read before sleeping are the ones who are unable to sleep. How many people eat their meals slowly by reading a book? How many people wake up early by reading a book? How many people, after reading a book, eat dinner early and go to bed early? I have never seen anyone in my life who has stopped overthinking by reading books; rather, it tends to increase.

In fact, those who read books end up overthinking even more to avoid overthinking. The truth is, there is no need to think before sleeping. If you think, you will prevent sleep, and conversely, if you stop thinking, sleep will begin.

In my opinion, after a certain age (approximately 25 years), a child should be limited to reading and writing only; otherwise, their marital and practical life becomes difficult. Even if they are successful from a business perspective, they cannot be successful from a practical perspective. This is because they have not learned to switch their concentration. This means they are still trying to live a life based on books. Switching from the life of books to one’s own life, to a practical life, is a very difficult and unimaginable task.

In my view, they should minimize their dependence on books and pay more attention to the practical events happening in their lives. They should try to solve problems using their own intellect. Now, they should learn to read their own life. This is because they have now entered the phase of employment and marital life. 🙏
