Immature Mind And Immaturity

Immature Mind And Immaturity

An immature mind is prone to imagining things and finds it difficult to get centred. It thinks of expansion, tries to achieve something or the other. One of the biggest signs of an immature mind is that it never wants to leave out anything. Such people tend to hold on to their fleeting thoughts to an extent that even the smallest of things turn gigantic and serious. The tree lets go of the ripe fruit, similarly, a mature mind can let go off unnecessary thoughts and emotions automatically.

Consider this, it is futile to expect ideological sacrifice from a child. The biggest source of his happiness is glucose, sweets. With a little age, he starts getting attracted by fantasies, thoughts and words. He satisfies his mind with fantasies and toys. The child is not yet mature, therefore, he looks for impractical ways of gratification, such as sweets, toys and fantasies.

As a child grows older, maturity kicks in but generally it is not seen in some people. During the survey, I found that after a while, the mind becomes weaker and immature. One of the primary reasons behind this is that the receptivity of the mind is not controlled with age, the mind has not been trained to let go of things, to control. Perhaps that is why the mind becomes one-sided and makes a person consumerist. It is unable to see the importance of the other side, i.e. renunciation and abandonment. That's why maturity is missing in most people and more impracticality is seen.

Let us understand this better with the help of an example. Sexual frustration is seen more in the old than in the young. While there should be ideological stagnation in their mind, unnecessary entry of emotions into the mind should stop. Thoughts should be discarded as the tree leaves its ripe fruit, rather the fruit becomes so ripe that it automatically leaves the tree.

This old and experienced mind starts giving up its thoughts, this quitting action starts happening automatically after the depth of experience and the mind settles itself in peace. This is the ultimate state of mind. Here, the mind becomes successful in destroying the unnecessary bits of itself by itself.

However, this success is possible only when the mind takes the help of a unique method of observation instead of using thoughts to destroy itself. Thoughts cannot be eliminated by other thoughts. The loop of trying to put an end to a certain though through other thoughts will be infinite and neverending. It will always keep us tied in the chain of thoughts and will never let us get out of that ideological circle - the root cause of sorrow and spiritual exhaustion.

In religion also, to eliminate one idea, another idea is resorted to, which is beneficial for some time but it is not the final truth. The only way to find stability is to find centeredness. Maturity will come when one stays at this center and the best method for this is only observation and dhyan.
