Experiences While Pranayama

Experiences While Practising Pranayama

Many seekers are not able to realize what should be experienced by the practice of Pranayama. Here, I have mentioned some experiences that will help a practitioner reach his/her reality.

  • If the reality of life is not being experienced by the practice of Pranayama, then it is certain that whatever practice you are doing, its benefit will be only up to the body and that too only for a momentary time.

  • While practising pranayama, the practitioner should begin to feel its rhythm. Rhythm in breath means to make oneself in tune. The soul gets peace only from the rhythm. That is why he calms himself through the rhythm in the breath.

  • Pranayama should bring so much peace to the five senses that they should not feel like accepting objects for a few hours.

  • In the practice of pranayama, the emphasis should be on self-satisfaction and not on curing diseases of the body. As much as the satisfaction becomes more, all the organs will begin to do their work well.

  • While doing pranayama, which part of the skin is being affected by the breath, it should be felt. One should also experience the effect of that experience on thoughts.

  • There should be a feeling of acceptance and renunciation while exhaling in and out. The breath going in gives the feeling that receiving is an important part of the nature of the mind. Feel the joy of it.

  • While exhaling, one will feel like giving up meaningless things and thoughts, do not cling to it. Rejoice in his sacrifice. Renunciation gives happiness.

  •  When the breaths are automatically held inside for a short time, then it means that it is also necessary to store it properly.

  • When you hold your breath out, it should be felt that you should also be hungry. If you do not experience this philosophy of life through Pranayama, then you are just practising the breath in an animalistic manner.

  • Give up the illusion of spreading the breath throughout the body, it does not give physical health. If it had given health, the same could be done by artificially providing breath and oxygen to the body through machines. You should pay attention to the experience of these breaths, the moment you are satisfied, every part of the body will automatically heal itself. Just like no matter how much you consume the quantity of food, you may not be satisfied but the moment you feel the taste you become satisfied. Satisfaction comes from eating a little sweet after a meal. It is the satisfaction that comes from the taste that digests the food. Feel the breath in the same way and that experience will make the body and mind healthy. Therefore one should not try to inhale and exhale in a mechanical manner.

  • In its practice one should experience the sensation of the breath against the skin at the beginning of the nose to the throat and from the throat to the nose. If it is not happening, then think that you are not practising in a correct manner.

  • The reason for the movement of all these senses is water, air and sky, through pranayama. Feel the air in such a way that the water inside the senses does not stir in it and becomes calm in the sky. Due to water and air, there is movement in the senses like eyes etc. If these senses are not experienced by pranayama, then these senses will not be able to be calm and stable. Nothing will come in hand except frustration.

  • Lung is just a machine, you are the one who runs it, when you give direction to it, move it up and down, you train yourself not lungs. This is what one has to experience in pranayama. With the same training, deep peace grows within you, and with this self-peace, all the subtle parts of the body, which are governed by prana, begin to feel calm.
