Does Mental Stress Affect the Navel Center?
The Adverse Effects of Mental Stress on the Navel Center
How does the navel center get affected? What impact does mental stress have on the navel center? How exactly does the navel center get influenced? Let us understand this through an example.
Suppose you are under stress, surrounded by anxiety, or deeply immersed in excessive thinking. Whether you remain silent or engage in conversations, excessive thinking, unnecessary discussions, mental stress, and frustration—all these conditions primarily affect the abdominal region.
Although the heart and lungs are also affected, when you engage in excessive thinking internally, the abdomen experiences a significant impact. Just because you are sitting quietly does not mean that you are truly calm. Internally, you are engaged in self-dialogue. As soon as this inner conversation begins, mental stress arises, whether with yourself or others. As a result, the body enters a specific response state.
As soon as you start conversing, an energy flow state is initiated. You put yourself under pressure, experience frustration, and this affects the abdominal region, internal muscles, and the area around the navel. Your digestion and liver functions are impacted, disrupting the entire digestive process. It is generally observed that due to excessive activity in this area, the body’s energy balance gets disturbed.
When this region becomes overly active, the center of gravity also starts shifting toward it. During this phase, the body’s water balance is also affected. If you observe carefully, the highest concentration of water in the body is found in the brain. When the fluid in the brain begins to heat up due to stress, it creates an imbalance throughout the body. Blood circulation and the supply of essential nutrients within it also face disruptions.
When the energy flow in the body is obstructed, the functioning of internal organs is impacted. The digestive system does not function properly, bowel movements are not regulated efficiently, and as a result, various physical issues arise. This is why I always say that most diseases originate from mental imbalance, excessive thinking, stress, and frustration.
If you learn to control this process and observe it attentively, most physical ailments can be managed naturally. In a recent lecture, a girl shared that she follows a healthy diet, drinks pure water, consumes raw food, and has not experienced stress for the past two years. Earlier, she used to be stressed, but now she has overcome it, yet she still faces some problems.
She now explains that she experiences continuous burping, especially while practicing yoga. This issue did not exist before, but it has increased after starting yoga. She asked me the reason behind it. I gave her two possible explanations. I did not say whether she was right or wrong, but I clearly explained that either there is some flaw in her lifestyle or mental stress itself could be the cause.
Excessive vigilance can sometimes aggravate problems. If you remain overly cautious about something, it can also create an imbalance in the body. Another crucial factor is mental stress. It can be a primary cause, and apart from this, I do not see any other reason.
If we blame our diet, we must also understand that our mental state drives us toward consuming unhealthy food. If a person eats samosas, kachoris, or other deep-fried foods daily, it is certain that both the body and mind will continue to crave them.
Ultimately, I believe that the mind is the most influential and responsible factor. If the mind itself is the root of the problem, the solution also lies in attaining mental balance.
