Calmness Affects the Detoxification Process

Calmness Affects the Detoxification Process

Student: I have been practicing yoga and meditation for a while now, and I have noticed that when I am in a more relaxed state, I feel better physically and mentally. Can you explain why this happens?

Yogi Anoop: Yes, of course. The mind and body are deeply interconnected, and when the mind becomes calm, the body can begin to detoxify at a faster rate. The brain receives energy from the body's organs, so when all organs responsible for digestion and elimination are strong, they provide energy to the brain.

Student: That makes sense. So, is it the brain that regulates and balances the body's functions?

Yogi Anoop: Exactly. The brain is like a machine that excites and calms all parts of the body. When you wake up from a deep sleep without dreams, your brain gives permission to your organs such as the intestines, bladder, and lungs to release their respective toxins. Since the brain does not release its toxins from the brain itself, it releases them through the organs of excretion such as feces and urine.

Student: That's interesting. I've noticed that even after waking up from a deep sleep, dirt comes out of the eyes and nose. Why does that happen?

Yogi Anoop: That's because the body is continuing to eliminate toxins through those sensual organs as well. However, our lifestyle often prevents us from establishing a deep connection between the mind, brain, and body, which can lead to unnecessary tension during excretion.

Student: I see what you mean. Sometimes, I feel like I have to force things during bowel movements, for example. Is that bad?

Yogi Anoop: Yes, that can be harmful. Any kind of pressure during bowel movements or urination greatly increases the pressure of blood flow and even any type of sensual stress during concentration is very harmful for the brain. Ayurvedic sages advise against interfering with the natural state of the body, mind, or brain. It's important to trust in the natural state of your body and not impose your own power.

Student: I feel pressure in my senses during meditation and reading books. Is that wrong?

Yogi Anoop: Yes this is completely wrong. When the mind is concentrated at one object forcefully then senses become stressed. This is very good art to  relax all senses during increasing concentration. Especially meditation practitioners do these things in the wrong way and get side effects in the future.
